In Pee Wee's Confessions of a Hockey Parent, I share my unfiltered thoughts on the ups and downs of being a hockey parent. I talk about the challenges of raising a competitive athlete, the joys of watching your child succeed, and the importance of finding humor in the madness.

If you're a hockey parent, or if you've ever thought about getting your child involved in the sport, then this book is for you. I hope my stories will make you laugh, cry, and nod your head in agreement. And most importantly, I hope they'll help you to appreciate the unique and wonderful experience of being a hockey parent.

The Early Years

My son, Pee Wee, started playing hockey when he was four years old. At first, it was just a way for him to get some exercise and have some fun. But as he got older, he started to take the sport more seriously. And so did we.

We spent countless hours at the rink, practicing drills and playing games. We traveled to tournaments all over the country. And we cheered him on every step of the way.

Being a hockey parent was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. We got to watch our son grow and develop into a talented athlete. And we made some lifelong friends along the way.

The Challenges of Raising a Competitive Athlete

As Pee Wee got older, he became more and more competitive. He wanted to win every game, and he was always hard on himself when he made a mistake.

As his parents, we wanted to support his dreams, but we also wanted to make sure he was having fun and that he wasn't putting too much pressure on himself.

It wasn't always easy to find a balance. But we learned to celebrate his successes, and we tried to help him learn from his mistakes.

The Joys of Watching Your Child Succeed

There's no greater feeling than watching your child succeed. And when it comes to hockey, there are few things more exciting than seeing your child score a goal or make a big save.

We've been lucky to watch Pee Wee achieve some amazing things on the ice. He's been a part of several championship teams, and he's even played for the United States National Development Team.

We're so proud of everything he's accomplished, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for him.

The Importance of Finding Humor in the Madness

Being a hockey parent can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a lot of stress. There are times when you'll want to pull your hair out. But it's important to remember that it's just a game.

I've learned that the best way to deal with the stress of hockey parenting is to find humor in the madness.

So if you're a hockey parent, I encourage you to embrace the chaos. Laugh at the crazy things that happen at the rink. And enjoy the ride.

Being a hockey parent is a unique and wonderful experience. It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun. And it's an experience that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

If you're thinking about getting your child involved in hockey, I encourage you to do it. It's a great sport that teaches kids teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

And who knows, your child might just be the next Pee Wee!
