The Brave Who Crossed the Sea is a memoir by Nguyen Qui Duc that tells the stories of Vietnamese veterans and their American families. The book is a powerful and moving account of the challenges and triumphs faced by these families as they navigate the complexities of war, immigration, and cultural identity.

Duc, a Vietnamese-American writer and journalist, spent years interviewing Vietnamese veterans and their families. He weaves their stories together into a rich and nuanced portrait of the Vietnamese-American experience.

The book begins with the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. Duc describes the chaotic and often dangerous conditions that Vietnamese refugees faced as they fled their homeland. Many of these refugees ended up in the United States, where they faced new challenges as they tried to rebuild their lives.

Duc's book is not just about the challenges faced by Vietnamese refugees. It is also a story of hope and resilience. The veterans and families he interviews have overcome tremendous obstacles to build new lives in America. They have achieved success in their careers, raised families, and become active members of their communities.

The Brave Who Crossed the Sea is a powerful and moving tribute to the Vietnamese-American experience. It is a story that will resonate with anyone who has ever struggled to overcome adversity.
